Local meeting in Valga town took place in the Valga Youth Center between Valga vice-mayor Lauri Drubinš, youth worker Maarja Mägi and the local youngsters. At the meeting the vice
mayor introduced the development plans of Valga and gave his vision of the future he wants Valga to have. He pointed out how important is the cooperation between twin-town and presented the development plan for the new town center, connecting both towns and creating joint cityscape of Valga-Valka (The 8th Quarter). Then the vice major had a discussion with the youngsters about the problems Valga is facing and how it would be possible to fix them. The few mentioned were: abandoned and dilapidated dwellings and shortage of open-air activities. Youngsters were asked if they are aware about the activities of the Youth Council and would they be interested to take part in it. It seemed quite interesting suggestion for the youngsters. The cooperation of both Valga and Valka Youth Councils was on agenda, also. The few of suggestions for the future were: more open-air events, and an establishing of a college or an university branch in Valka, which would engage more young people to the town.
